Daniel didnt respond. Instead he gestured toward a narrow path that wound down toward the rocks below. Theres something down there. I found an old map in the library archives one that matches this area. I think it might lead us to whatever Nathans after.
Emily stared at the treacherous path her heart racing. The rocks below were sharp and the waves crashed violently against them. It was dangerous but then again everything about this situation was dangerous.
Ill go first Daniel said sensing her hesitation. He started down the path moving carefully but with purpose.
Emily followed her hands gripping the jagged rocks for balance. The wind whipped at her hair and the sound of the ocean crashing below was deafening. Every step felt like it was pulling her deeper into the past toward the moment that had defined their lives.
As they reached the bottom Emily could see itan old weathered opening in the cliffs halfhidden by overgrown brush. It looked ancient like something that had been forgotten by time. The entrance to a cave.

They stepped inside the air damp and cold. The cave was narrow at first but it opened up as they moved deeper into the darkness the faint light from their phones casting eerie shadows on the walls.

Daniel pointed ahead where the ground sloped downward into a deeper chamber. This is where it gets strange.
